Week 18

Small Groups

Monday: We drew self-portraits. The children had their own picture and then used crayons that matched the color of their skin to draw their picture. They did a great job!

Tuesday: PLC Day!

Wednesday: We worked on the activity Sink or Float. We discussed the difference between sinking and floating. The children were given cards to use to tell if they thought an object would sink or float. They did a good job in thinking about if an object was heavy or light to see if it would sink or float.

Thursday: We got to explore watercolors. The children made some pretty cool pictures!

Friday: The children got to paint snowflakes using any color they wanted to. Once they were finished painting they got to choose some glitter and they put it on their snowflake.

Large Group

Monday: We read the story 5 Little Penguins. The 5 Little Penguins were out having some fun but one at a time they got hurt and had to stay home. After they all were hurt, they then went back out to have some more fun.

Tuesday: PLC Day!

Wednesday: We danced around to the song called “Listen and Move”. The children had to listen to each sound that the song played and then move accordingly to that sound.

Thursday: We did a flannel board called “Henry’s Little Zoo”. This story is based off of the Henry Doorly Zoo and lists a whole bunch of different animals.

Friday: We read the story “The Mitten”. The story is about a boy who wants snow white mittens. He loses a mitten and a mole, a rabbit, a hedgehog, a fox, a badger, a bear, and a mouse all squeeze into the mitten. The children were very curious about how all of the different animals got into the mitten.
