Small Groups

Monday: The children got to explore Geo Boards. They were given some rubber bands and they got to make different shapes and objects using the rubber bands.

Tuesday: The children got to use colored water and decorate coffee filters. They had a few different colors to choose from and used eyedroppers to put the water on the coffee filters. Once the coffee filters were dry we hung them up in the classroom.

Wednesday: We did an activity called “What does it weigh?” We had a balance and spoke about how when an object is heavy one end will go all the way down to the table. Then we weighed a few different objects. Once the children got the idea of the activity they were able to choose items and weigh them to see what item weighed more.

Thursday: The children worked on finding the letters in their name by searching through some magnets. They had a cookie sheet and when they found the letters in their name they put the letters on the cookie sheet then put their name in the correct order.

Friday: We made letter letters. The children had lights with each letter of their name on them. It was their job to find the correct letter and put it in the correct order.

Large Group

Monday: We read the story “There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly” for the last time. The children have all gotten pretty good about retelling the story. We used the flannel board to help tell the story. They did a great job.

Tuesday: We danced around to  “Stir the Soup”. This song talks about some different fruits and vegetables then makes a soup that we pretend to stir up.

Wednesday: The children really enjoy dancing to the song “Cowboy Dance”. They get in their cowboy stance and put their lasso in the sky.

Thursday: We danced to the song “Freeze”. The children free dance until the music stops and the children have to freeze.

Friday: We had children’s choice. The children really wanted to go outside so we spent some extra time enjoying the fresh air.
