Small Groups
Monday: The children created their Nature Collage’s. After our walk last week, we set out all of their materials and created a collage using the items they found on their walk. The children glued everything down how they wanted it, then set it on the rack to dry.
Tuesday: We had a Food Experience and made Pumpkin Pudding! The children were able to dump, pour, scoop, and mix all of the ingredients together. When it was finished they were able to taste it. Some of the children really liked it and others didn’t.
To make pumpkin pudding you need:
- 1 pkg. (5 1/10 oz.) vanilla instant pudding and pie filling mix
- 1 can (12 fl. oz.) NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Lowfat 2% Milk
- 1 can (15 oz) LIBBY’S® 100% Pure Pumpkin
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
You will mix the vanilla pudding and the Evaporated Milk together in a Large Bowl. Let the pudding sit in the fridge for 5 minutes to set (optional). Then scoop in 1 can of Libby’s Pure Pumpkin and stir the pudding and pumpkin mix together. Let sit in the fridge for 10 minutes (optional). Also, you can put in some pumpkin pie spice if you wish. Cool whip makes for an excellent topping!
Wednesday: The children got to explore Moon Sand. The children got to clump it, smash it and form it however they wanted to.
Thursday: We got to work on the iPads. The children listened to stories, made cookies, worked on letters and numbers, and so much more!
Friday: The children worked on Big Floor Puzzles together as a group. There were 4 or 5 puzzles that the children could choose from. They worked on them as a whole group and in groups of 2 or 3.
Large Group
Monday: We listened to a song called Looking for Dracula. It’s similar to Going on a Bear Hunt but instead of looking for a bear we look for Dracula. The children loved it and have been asking to do it again.
Tuesday: We went on a Spooky Walk. In this song we go through some tall grass, a river and more. The children also enjoyed this song.
Wednesday: We learned a new song called Spider on the Floor. First, the spider is on the floor, then it moves up your leg, to your stomach, to your neck, your face, and finally on the top of your head. At the end of the song the spider jumps off and lands back on the floor.
Thursday: During the Jumping Song the children had to listen very carefully. The song said a number and we had to jump that many times. We jumped all the way up to ten times.
Friday: We sang the song ABC Rock. This song works on the ABC’s. First, we listen, then echo the letters of the song all while keeping a beat on our legs.
