Small Groups

Monday: We got to explore play dough! The children were able to choose one color of their choice. They were able to manipulate the play dough with their hands and work with some different play dough tools. The children had a lot of fun!

Tuesday: PLC Day – On the last Tuesday of every month is a PLC Day. This means that the children will not have class on those days.

Wednesday: The children practiced writing their names. They were given sheets of paper with letters and lines to write their names. They were to circle the letters in their name and then write their names on the lines. We will continue to practice writing their names throughout the year.

Thursday: The children got to draw pictures of themselves for the first time. They were able to look at a picture of themselves on a iPad to do this. We worked on drawing a head with eyes, nose, mouth and hair. The children did a wonderful job!

Friday: We got paint with water colors! The children were able to paint whatever they wish. We spoke about what they were painting as they worked on their pictures. When they were finished painting we let the water dry and then hung them up on their cubbies.

Large Group

Monday: We got the scarves out and went around saying our peer’s names. As we said each peer’s names they were able to move their scarf however they wanted to when it was their turn. Then the whole group was to move their scarf the same way.

Tuesday: PLC Day

Wednesday: We sang the song baby shark. The song goes from a baby shark, to mom, dad, grandma, and grandpa. There are actions that go along with the song as well.

Thursday: We listened to a song called Listen and Move. The song goes over different sounds at the beginning and tells the children how to move with those sounds. Then the children have to listen for the sound and do the move that goes with it.

 Friday: We listened to a song called Animal Action. This song names off some different animals then we have to move around the carpet like that animal. Some of the animals are a bee, a spider, bunny, lion, and horse.
