*Week 7

Small Groups

Monday: We worked on our shapes and colors by playing Shapes and Colors Bingo. The children did a very good job of correctly identifying and matching their symbols.

Tuesday: PLC Day!

Wednesday: We read the book “Does Kangaroo have a mother too?” before Small Groups and then the children were to draw pictures of their families. The children drew their family members and then identified the people that they drew.

Thursday: We got to explore some types of different artwork. The children created art by using marbles, with close adult supervision. They choose 3 different colors and then moved the marbles slowly across a tin pan.IMG_3802

Friday: We got out the shaving cream for the children to get messy with. They loved it! They were able to make different designs on a piece of paper and once the shaving cream was dry they had a picture. After they were finished with their paper they got to have more shaving cream for the table to explore.

Large Group

Monday: We sang the song Baby Bumble Bee. First we catch a bee, then we smash it up, wipe it off, and finally wash our hands.

Tuesday: PLC Day!

Wednesday: We read the book “Does Kangaroo have a mother too?” written by Eric Carle to the children and spoke about the different ways that families are made it. Once we finished reading the book the children drew a picture of their families.

Thursday: We have started to work on letter sounds and slowly introducing them. We danced to a song called Lettercize by Dr. Jean. This song gets the children up and moving like a boxer. They are to punch out the letter sounds as we go over each letter.

Friday: We participated in the Walk-a-thon for Large Group. Our class walked around the track two times which is half a mile! Wow!
