Physical Science

Physical Science is a one semester course for all 9th grade students that meets the LPS graduation requirements for 5 hours of physics based physical science.  You will still need to take at least 5 hours of chemistry based physical science.

Grading Summary

By LPS policy, all high school classes must conform to the following:

  • Formative work (practice): 20%,
  • Summative work (final assessment of mastery): 80%

In this class, formative work will include things like:

  •             Notes
  •             Homework
  •             In-class assignments
  •             Small projects

In this class summative work will include things like:

  • Exams: at least 4 @ 50-100 pts each
  • Semester Project @ 100 pts
  • Portfolio @ 150 pts
