LUX WRESTLING

The Lincoln Public Schools Middle Level Intramural program is designed to give students experience playing an activity in a comfortable, nonthreatening environment.  Students participating in Lux Wrestling will work on developing basic wrestling skills, learning moves and competing against other students of similar ability.

Students participating in Lux Wrestling need to understand the following things:

  • Wrestling is a school activity and all school rules will be enforced at practices and meets.  Outstanding character and sportsmanship will be discusses and expected.  Consequences for inappropriate behavior will be handled by Mr. Burch.

  • Communication is very important when participating in intramurals.  If you are not going to be able to participate in a meet or practice it’s important to get a note to Mr. Burch as soon as possible to be excused for that absence.  If no note is provided you may be asked to sit out.

  • Coaches have given up their time to come and work with students on building wrestling skills and gaining experience.  Coaches must be treated with the utmost respect.  Any problems with respect towards coaches will be handled by Mr. Burch

  • 6TH Grade students may participate, however, following Lincoln Public Schools policy they will not be able to compete at meets.

  • Meets will use individual scoring, but not be scored by a team.  Matches consist of three one minute rounds with a brief rest between rounds.

  • Headgear is optional, shorts must be at least mid thigh in length, shoes are required, school jerseys must be worn unless student is wrestling in singlet.
