A large portion of the Kindergarten Language Arts Curriculum consists of 2 “Welcome Weeks” and 10 themes. Each theme is about 3 weeks long.
Throughout the themes we work on learning the letters and their sounds, 36 sight words and 10 word families. Students work in a large group, small groups, pairs and as individuals to learn the various aspects of the curriculum. I work very hard to meet each child at their level and “push” them as needed so they are stretching and learning each day.
Additionally, we work a great deal on comprehension and writing stories from our lives.
