1) We reviewed the Puerto Rico video information.
2) We reviewed how to talk about how long something has been going on. You use the PRESENT tense when talking about this. (¿Cuánto tiempo hace que tienes tus zapatos favoritos? Hace 2 años que tengo mis zapatos favoritos. How long have you had your favorite shoes? I’ve had my favorite shoes for 2 years.)
3) When you use the above questions/sentences with the PAST tense (preterite), the meaning changes to “how long AGO” something happened. See p. 175 in your book. (¿Cuánto tiempo hace que fuiste al cine? Hace 2 semanas que fui al cine. How long ago did you go to the movies? I went to the movies 2 weeks ago.)
4) La tarea – Study 3.2 vocabulary, the U-Stem preterites, and “¿Cuánto tiempo hace que…?/Hace ____ que____” with the present and the past tenses.
5) Our 3.2 QUIZ will be Friday, February 7th!
6) Students received their “pay” for last week’s work. Ask for your envelope. We will use the money for our end-of-the-unit market.
