The Lincoln Public Schools Civics standards are based on three essential questions.  These questions guide the curriculum for this class.  One of my favorite things about teaching Civics is that the information we cover in this class is pertinent to our daily lives.  The first step in developing quality U.S. and World citizens is knowledge.  In this class we will attempt to answer these three essential questions:

Standard 1:  How can we become empowered as a citizen?

Standard 2:  How do democratic concepts impact our power as citizens?

Standard 3:  How does the structure of our government help preserve our democratic principles?
