Spanish 2

1) I marked credit for the homework assignment – the ancient Mexico video notes with five Spanish sentences using the video information and 4.2 vocabulary. (Make sure that your sentences are at the Spanish 2 level.)

**Show me your answers for credit.**

2) We practiced 4.2 vocabulary.

3) We reviewed the endings for regular verbs in the preterite. Make sure that you know these regular endings: AR – é, aste, ó, amos, aron    ER/IR – í, iste, ió, imos, ieron.

4) We added information to our vocabulary sheet about verbs that have an “i” to “y” spelling change in the preterite.. See p. 226. Write the forms for “leer” and “construir” on your vocabulary sheet. Also, add the verb “oír” (to hear): oí, oíste, oyó, oímos, oyeron.

5) We reviewed how verbs that end in -car, -gar, -zar have spelling changes in the “yo” form only. Again, this change happens in the preterite form. See. p. 227. Write these spelling changes in the space provided on your vocabulary sheet. -car verbs: c->qu; -gar verbs: g->gu; -zar verbs: z->c

6) La tarea – a worksheet to practice the preterite forms of -car, -gar, -zar verbs.

**Take a copy from the left, front folder.**

7) ANNOUNCEMENTS: Our 4.2 QUIZ will be Friday, February 26th. Pick up your Spanish 3-4 letter in the office, if you took the Spanish 3-4 test. See Sra. Sánchez-Carrillo if you are interested in attending the UNL Language Fair.
