SCIP: School Community Intervention & Prevention

“Family, School & Community Supporting Student Behavioral & Emotional Health.”

The purpose of the SCIP program is to:

  1. Identify students who are experiencing difficulty being successful in school which may be related to substance abuse or other mental/behavioral health issues.
  2. To provide alternative approaches in helping students deal with these problems.
  3. To provide a support system for students and families to address problem areas both within and outside the school setting.

Components of the program

  1. Identification
  2. Intervention
  3. Referral
  4. Support

This team will not label or diagnose any student. This team will monitor and coordinate identification, intervention and support components of the program, as well as conduct in-service presentations among the faculty to involve the entire school staff in assisting students.
