Interesting Art Facts:

Vincent Van Gogh only sold one painting during his lifetime.  In 10 years it is estimated that he created nearly 900 paintings.

Edgar Degas was so fascinated with dancers, it is estimated that he created nearly 1500 works with dancers as the subject.

Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa is valued at 700 million dollars (in 2009).  He was also left handed, and wrote all of his personal notes from right to left.  Rumor has it that he would purchase caged birds just to set them free.

Pablo Picasso was baptized as Pablo Diego José Fransisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Martyr Patricio Clito Ruiz y Picasso.  His name is 23 words long!

Claude Monet had poor eyesight, and was rendered blind for 10 years until he had corrective surgery.
