GET

10/8/12

Present:  Lisa C., Connie, Laura P., Jeanie, Kelly, Josh, Kiran, Susie, Lisa Lockman, Katier Reisdorff (BIST consultant), Wendy B.

Leadership:

  • Today is the makeup BIST consult day for 9/26/12:  1st 15 in the office
  • Protective plans are working well!  Use Katie for ideas on “tweaking”.

School wide:

  • Oct. 17 grade assemblies in the afternoon with Dr. B in the cafeteria
  • Watch for a sign up sheet for afternoon times to meet.

Non-classroom :

  • Lunch –
    • K, 3, 5 hang up coats – 1, 2, 4 wear theirs in lunchroom – Please remind your students to pick up their coats when they leave lunch.
    • Honors table is awesome!! (Parents who visit for lunch sit there, as do birthday kids and a friend, mentors and their student, and also kids who have been doing a great job who need a reward.
    • Bathroom breaks – Let’s speed them up – a 10 minute stroll is not ok.
      • Maybe use your log out as time keeper
      • Review bathroom behaviors/ paper towels in trash can
      • Before school – Enforcing line order remind students of school expectations
      • Dismissal with Lefler kids–
        • Parents complete form for sibling to pick up Randolph kid.  Middle school students come in door #10. Beata checks each in and they wait in south ramp hallway.
        • Sibling wait at bus stop at Lefler and get dismissed at 3:25 to arrive here at the exactly right time
        • Sibling wait in the Lefler library and get dismissed at 3:25 to arrive here at the exactly right time
        • Our custodians have been a GREAT help being sentries at 39th Street!  Bob and Nick stand there from 3:10-3:40, and middle school students who have no reason to be here turn away.
        • Lefler administrators and district administrators have been helping with follow up for those students and families NOT known to Randolph, but who are causing trouble by loitering here.
        • Dismissal for Randolph
          • Asking parents to move back from the yellow pillars will give classes space to spread out and dismiss.
          • Susie will put up cones to block off area and yarn it off to form a shute where classes can walk out past the yellow pillars.
          • Teachers saying good-bye to class may want to back up a touch or be more linear so others can come by.  Currently, there is too much congestion at the yellow pillars.
          • Teachers should stay outside with their students until all of the students are accounted for and gone.  Take your “leftover” students into the office to contact parent.  Notice who is always late picking up their child(ren) and make a contact to parent.   This week AND next it’s vital to have everyone outside at dismissal time.  Spread out and keep people moving, or assist children.  Keeping a safe and orderly dismissal takes everyone’s help.  Then, talk within your team to see what you can do to help out so that all kids are safe.

Individual:

  • Recovery – Thank you Laura for working so hard with this!  Thank you all for donating your time!!!
