Spanish 2 and Spanish 1

¡Bienvenidos!

¿Cómo estás hoy?

We will be setting up class expectations and getting to know each other.

Think about a situation when you were trying to learn and a disruption

prevented you from learning.   What was that interruption?

  1.  Think about your senses – hear, see, smell, taste, feel

– Individually write down at least 3 situations on the index cards on your table

– Leave the cards on the table by the table number

2.  New seats.   Take your book bag with you.

-SOAR expectations… our school guidelines

  1. With your new table partner brainstorm 4-5 Classroom guidelines that would be a successful classroom environment for you.

-Make it positive —   (Don’t use the word “No” or “Don’t”)

-Look at the index cards on your table left by the other students

-Be ready to share your guidelines.

4.     As a larger group – Revise your guidelines to fit all group members

-Everyone in the group needs to have input

– what can you compromise on?

-Before you share with the whole class… Which 2 are “MUST HAVES”?

  1. Each group shares on the whiteboard up front the 2 MUST HAVES.

-Compare all … similar ones?

-As a class come up with Guidelines

– Any other guidelines we need to add that aren’t covered in our Guidelines?

-Each table shares the situation cards

-Are the situations covered in the guidelines?

The Guidelines can be revised throughout the term as we see a need

6.     Other school expectations—    Website:   http://wp.lps.org/scornish/

Look at expectations on website.    Any that might not be listed in our guidelines?

Check out online textbook and quia sites.      Reminder on Drills—fire, tornado, lockdowns

7.     Get to know your table partner using the question cards:

With your table partner ask questions and be ready to present your partner to the group.

If you would like to take the opportunity to introduce your partner in Spanish I have SOAR cards for taking that opportunity.

After you present in Spanish let me know if you’d like a school related prize, first in the lunch line, or front row parking.

8.   Reflect on the class – guidelines and getting to know table partner.   What went well?

9.   Homework

Thinking about how you shared with your table partner and some shared with the whole group… prepare for tomorrow –

Write out on paper an introduction of yourself to me in Spanish. You may use some of the responses you used earlier … IN SPANISH.

Be ready for me to ask questions in Spanish tomorrow.

  1. ¿Cómo te llamas?
  2. ¿De dónde eres?
  3. ¿Cómo es?
  4. ¿Qué te gusta?
  5. ¿Qué no te gusta?
  6. ¿Qué hiciste durante la vacación?
