Good Sunday morning Parents and Students:

This week Applied Chemistry will test over Periodic Table and Trends on Monday (tomorrow).

Standard will go over their formative assessment quiz on Monday and test on Tuesday.

I gave all students a large review 60 q’s and time to see what they do understand about trends and what they still need help with.

I’ve typed all of the answers and put the link to them on my webpage.

Many students tell me that they are only looking over reading guides to study for the tests in chemistry.  Students need to practice writing equations, solving problems, comparing and contrasting, reading graphs and doing some calculations to prepare.  There is no math on this section, however those other skills will be tested.

The sciencegeek.net has several practice reviews to help students know if they can do these skills.   This review in particular will match questions on our test.

Thanks for your time at conferences.  Please feel free to email or call with questions if you weren’t able to make it.

Finally, as the semester passes, please remind your students that using their phone during class is not an effective way to learn a new subject.  Many students have taken a “digital detox” pledge and put their phones away, but many students are still distracted by phones and social media.  It disrupts the learning environment and distracts them from what they should be doing in class.

Thanks for your support,
