No Spelling this week due to Unit Assessment in Reading.

Tuesday, March 22nd, The Pride of Prescott, our 5th grade class, will be taking a field trip to Southeast Community College for the Earth Wellness Festival. Our time slot will bring us back after our normal lunch time. Students (and teachers) will be eating sack lunches. If your student signed up to bring their own lunch please make certain they remember their lunch on Tuesday March 22nd.

We will be putting together the 5th Grade Team video soon. Each student needs to turn in a BABY PICTURE to Mr. Riley by April 27th. Pictures can be emailed to Mr. Riley at kriley@lps.org. OR hard copies can be brought in to be scanned. Please be sure pictures have been turned in NO LATER THAN  April 27th. Thanks!

March 7-11 is Spring Break! There is no school… But, for those students who love learning and just can’t wait to have school work, Mr. Riley has sent a packet of work home today in Friday Folders. This work is due TUESDAY March 15.

Please note: Today, March 2nd, 2016 there will be no math homework in Mr. Riley’s class due to the Field Trip… There IS reading homework. The reading homework which IS going home today is due Friday.

Ok, there’s more than 2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter but not much. Fourth Quarter begins March 14th–the Monday we return from Spring Break! Just like any strong football team (like, say, the Green Bay Packers…) now is not the time to panic. Rather, the start of the 4th quarter is the time to reflect, refocus and finish strong. Take a few minutes this week and next to remind your student(s) about the importance of staying focused in school. Help them remember that the job isn’t over until the last day and we have to keep working until that final bell. There still remain some important tasks for us to tackle such as NeSA which will be here soon. Help us keep our community strong by reminding your student(s) of the important role school plays and encouraging them to put forth 110% effort even in… especially in… the final stretch.

Wednesday, March 2nd, the Prescott 5th grade community will be taking a trip to Sheldon Art Gallery. We will leave school about 9:20AM and be back by about 11:00AM. Students will have a normal day’s afternoon including specials, lunch and homework. The Dr. Seuss Character Parade will end our day on the 2nd.
