It is very hard to believe that we have reached the last week of March! Report cards for quarter 3 will come home with your child today.
This week brings the due date for March Book Report. April’s genre is Mystery and will be due April 28th.
Reading
This week is the Unit testing for Unit 5. Today expect to see a pink grammar packet for students to finish and review for the grammar section of the test tomorrow. We will also have the 10 meaningful sentences with Unit 5 vocabulary words test tomorrow. Wednesday will be the reading comprehension and constructed response portions of the test. There is no spelling this week. Nesa Reading will be on the 13th and 14th. A letter about this testing will be coming home with report cards today.
Math
Today we will have DCA #4 to show us what students have mastered in math so far. We will use this to help guide our instruction this last quarter as well as prepare them for the Math Nesa on April 20th and 21st. A letter about this testing will come home with report cards today. Tomorrow we will start Chapter 22:Adding and Subtracting Decimals. The test will be Tuesday the 5th.
Unit Studies
We will finish with Electricity this week. The DCA will be on Friday. Monday students will start in Social Studies with Miss Vercellino.
Writing
This week we will be doing a Research and Inquiry unit. We will research about a charity organization learning how to research and site sources. The end project will be a commercial made by the students for their charity organization. It should be a fun week! Next we will begin researching and writing Biographies!
