COURSE DESCRIPTION
With an emphasis on listening and speaking, Spanish 1 provides students with a foundation of listening and speaking skills. Writing and reading of words and simple phrases/passages in the language are taught along with vocabulary and grammar. Students acquire a general understanding of the culture of the Spanish speaking world with emphasis on Spain, Mexico, Little Havana in Miami, Florida, Ecuador and San Antonio, Texas.
We will cover the Adelante and chapters 1-10 in the text,
VEN CONMIGO, Level 1. Each chapter contains 3 pasos and we will spend approximately 2-3 weeks on each followed by a quiz or other assessment. At the end of the chapter, there will be a chapter test and/or a project. A final exam will be given at the end of each semester.
