  • Reading – focuses on comprehension skills and strategies, vocabulary fluency, spelling, and independent reading skills
  • Writing – provides practice in process writing in multiple modes as well as spelling and grammar instruction
  • Speaking & Listening – reinforces skills in both formal speaking and interpersonal communications

Lincoln Public Schools has adopted the McGraw-Hill Language Arts curriculum called Wonders.  The goals of this program are to:

  • Building a strong reading foundation
  • Access complex text
  • Find and use text evidence
  • Engage in collaborative conversations
  • Write to sources

This program is very rich and diverse in print and digital media.  The program is very rigorous and intentional, and it aligns with the Common Core State Standards.
