This year some special education teachers are teaching the 16 Basic Social Skills that have been thoroughly researched and modeled by Boys Town in Omaha, NE. These skills will be taught in a few simple steps.

I will share the skill I am teaching each week, so that you can practice with your student at home. By hovering over Social Skills in the above menu, you will be able to select the skill.

The focus, even when correcting mistakes, will be on having conversations that help form positive relationships. Students will practice the skill, receive positive feedback for using the skill, and will have an opportunity to correct any mistakes they make.
