I recently used a Focus Four activity with a group of liaisons I work with. My question was “On which topics should we focus our professional development efforts next year?” I didn’t feel great about how well I facilitated (I’m still trying to find my “sea legs” where facilitating the protocol is concerned) but we ultimately landed where we needed to. I’m considering setting up a Flip camera in the corner next time so I can watch “game film” and figure out how to improve. Four topics out of 16 emerged as “biggies” and I’ve used that information to pre-plan some meetings for next year and develop some district FLEX workshops.
