Objectives and lessons for the week of October 19, 2015

Objectives

This week we will:

  1. Know how to create sensory sentences for our descriptive essay body by including descriptive words in our topic and supporting sentences;
  2. Understand how to restate our Thesis Statement and conclude our descriptive essay by completing 2.8 Descriptive Essay Conclusion Organizer;
  3. Know U. 2 W. 4 spelling words by taking pre and post spelling tests;
  4. Practice reading strategy of making predictions by applying knowledge on key and lock stories;
  5. Reveiw reading comprehension skill of Point of View by completing practice using worksheet, key, and lock book readings for U. 2 W. 4.
  6. Know the elemennts of Historical Fiction by identifying them using text from key and lock books;
  7. Know 6 Greek & Latin suffix meanings by applying meaning to words selected from key and lock book;
  8. Understand text from lit & guided reading book by applying skills to the text and completing work jobs and sharing them with their group.

The following are the learning objectives from this week:

  1. This week we will be able to know Unit 2 Week 3 spelling words by creating a word art document using those words.
  2. We will know our Unit 2 Week 3 vocabulary words by finding or creating pictures to represent each one.
  3. We will actively participate in literature or guided reading groups by sharing completed jobs.
  4. We will know our descriptive essay topic and key ideas by completing a thesis statement and an introduction on google docs.
