From Mrs. Chaffee:
“So good to hear from you. I am stilling enjoying Doha, Qatar and Qatar Academy. I am extending my leave to include the 2015-2016 school year. I just sent my paperwork to HR. I think about the Randolph community often and still believe it’s one of the best schools I’ve ever been a part of. A truly inspirational environment full of teachers and staff that believe they can make a difference.
I’m heading to Berlin in two weeks to get trained in the Middle Years Programme within the International Baccalaureate. I have already been trained in the Diploma Programme, which is years 11 and 12. I’m loving middle school and am learning so much about arab culture, Islam, and life in the Middle East. I have to admit I miss western culture and will probably leave after next year. I still have the international bug, but I’m not sure where I would like to go next. Give my love to the Ran staff.”
All my best,
Liz

Love and Logic Moment

Getting Your Money’s Worth
Britney and Tami’s parents decided that their young teens could benefit from having their own clothing allowance. Today was the first time that the girls could do their very own shopping.
Britney took her mother to the mall and made her purchases. When it was Tami’s turn she went to one of the bargain stores.
That evening the girls were to have a fashion show for Dad, modeling all their new outfits.
Out came Britney. She was wearing a very fashionable outfit with matching accessories.
She then sat with Dad while Tami made her appearance. To Britney’s chagrin, Tami came out again and again, each time with a different outfit on.
As Britney waited for her next clothing allowance, due in four months, she tired of her one outfit. Mom and Dad expressed their empathy and said, “Not to worry, Sweetie. You’ll have another opportunity soon. It’ll be interesting to see how you handle your money.”
Listen to my new audio, Parents are Not ATMs and learn techniques that will teach your kids the value of the dollar, setting them up to make more responsible financial decisions later in life.
