DATA TEAMS – discussion

Celebrations

  • Team focus
  • More on task
  • More meaningful
  • Less time wasted on forms
  • Names!!! of kids on document that are behind

Challenges:

  • Time – lots of team planning time
  • Making sure we are asking good facilitator questions (getting comfortable)
  • Missing goog doc – (couldn’t find it after it was sent)
  • More meetings – (However, for specialist they love it since they are divided in math and reading)
  • Early release time does not jive with what we are going to do during that time so not sure what to do
  • Getting more comfortable with google doc but taken a bit
  • Gen ed teachers are doing most of the work – then lots of time is spent getting the others caught up
  • Some students are so far behind that its hard to get the power standard to fit their needs – all kids on the same focus

Questions with some answers:

  • Tech person not participating in the conversation? Do we need to change roles so everyone can contribute more? It might be a good idea.
  • Do you have a problem of seeing what the reporter is typing while typing? You can project it. It may help.
  • Is it possible to see how other teams work? If you are interested in attending another meeting, then yes! Just ask if you can sit in.
  • Things are not lining up well on the google doc. How can we help this? – Chrome – if you open goog doc in Chrome the data lines up better
  • Are we phasing in all groups of 4 groups next year? District expectation will be that all 4 groups will be addressed
