RANDOLPH BOOK FAIR at Barnes and Noble at SOUTH POINTE!

Wed., December 12th—all day and evening

If people buy anything other than gift cards and tell the cashier they would like their purchase total added to the Randolph Book Fair, we will get a certain amount of the profits to purchase books for the library. Sales can be from grandparents, neighbors, etc. We don’t have to do anything special other than “spread the word!”

Eileen’s “Scoop & Bake” Cookie Dough Sale is almost OVER!  A three pound tub makes approx. 33-3” cookies! All that for only $13.50!  The flavors for sale are sugar, chocolate chip, M&M, peanut butter, snickerdoodle, monster oatmeal, and oatmeal raisin.   The completed order forms and payment (cash or check with checks written to Randolph PTA) MUST be turned in by Monday, November 26. NO LATE ORDERS CAN BE FILLED! The due date is the Monday following Thanksgiving break. Mark your calendars and don’t forget this important deadline!  The cookie dough will be ready for pickup at school on Monday, December 10.

Dr. Jane Stavem will visit Randolph on November 27, about 10-10:15 a.m.   She will a tour of the building and then spend about 30 minutes with Dr. B.

Sleep Matters!

Our bodies do most of their growing when we sleep.

When we sleep our bodies recover from the stress of the day.

LOVE and LOGIC MOMENT:

I met a family who appeared to have great teenagers. “Yes, they are,” offered Mom. “I worked hard with them when they were little, and it really paid off. They were expected to behave and help out with the family jobs. Now they are a joy.”

Unfortunately the third child in the family turned out to be nothing like the older ones. With remorse Mom told us that by the time he came along she was worn out. “I no longer had the energy, so my way was to just give him what he wanted. I didn’t want the hassle.”

She went on to say that this was the worst mistake of her life. “He’s not like the other kids. He’s lazy and selfish. All he wants to do is watch TV and play video games. He’s never happy unless he gets his way.”

Mom has discovered how to create an entitled child who will probably never be happy. Now she has to decide to continue the damage to her child or to start setting some limits.

The good news is that it’s not too late if she learns to use Love and Logic.

In our book, From Innocence to Entitlement, Jim Fay and Dawn Billings discuss how to recognize when your kids are developing a dangerous sense of entitlement, as well as what to do if they are.

Thanks for reading! Our goal is to help as many families as possible. If this is a benefit, forward it to a friend.
