Job Skills Taught in Elementary School?

Teaching Job Skills in Elementary School?

Yes!  We teach students how to be successful learners—how to ask questions, research information, and write that information to a variety of audiences.

Yes!  We teach children communication skills—how to gather and share information verbally and in writing, in a variety of venues—in person, via computers, with written words.

Yes!  We teach students how to work independently and in a group—how to use all the skills they are developing to produce their best learning, as well as how to collaborate with classmates to create a common product.

Yes!  We teach children the importance of being safe, respectful, honest, responsible, and courteous to their peers and adults.

Yes!  We teach students the importance of being on time to their jobs—being at their seat, ready to learn, ready to contribute their ideas and thoughts and imaginings.

But we can’t do any of that if the children aren’t here at school.  The more you go, the more you know.  The more you learn, the more you earn.  Be at school everyday.  Being on time is the only way!

We teach children the value of being on time as part of our school’s learning community.  You parents play a vital role in respecting and instilling that learning by how you model getting to appointments, your own work, and other places—like school—in a timely manner.

REMEMBER: “If you walk or if you drive, get to school by 8:55!”
