The Lincoln East High School Counseling Program received the Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) designation at the ASCA Annual Conference in Boston, Massachusetts, July 3-6, 2010. Lincoln East, the first Nebraska school to receive this recognition, was honored along with 86 other K-12 schools for making an exemplary commitment to comprehensive school counseling programs.

The RAMP designation, awarded to schools that align with the criteria set in the ASCA National Model, recognizes schools that are committed to delivering a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program and an exemplary educational environment. More than 250 schools have received the RAMP designation since the program’s inception in 2003.

Pat Nailor, ASCA’s 2009-10 president, said the recipients are to be commended for their dedication to serving all students and demonstrating how effective school counseling programs can make a difference in students’ lives. “This fall’s RAMP honorees have shown their commitment to students and the school counseling profession,” said Nailor. “This designation distinguishes these schools and encourages school counselors nationwide to continue to strive for success.”

Kindergarten students have been learning a little about poetry. We’ve talked about things we really like and how to describe them using poems. All of them have written a poem and wanted to share it with you! We used the FlipCam and iMovie to publish these poems digitally. We hope you have as much fun watching them as we did making them!
