    North Star High School Business Teacher Ms. Bonnie Malcom received the 2009 Outstanding Business Education Teacher Award from the Association for Career and Technical Education of Nebraska. The award was presented to her at the 2009 Nebraska Career Education Conference in Kearney, Nebraska.

    North Star High School Social Studies Teacher Mr. Brian Burback is the 2009 Recipient of the National Distinguished Teacher Award from the National Council for Geographic Education. What a great honor! His award will be presented during the National Conference on Geography Education September 26 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

    Last week I had Lasik Surgery. Now I know what you’re thinking… they’ve actuallly implanted tiny nano-bots within my globes of vision… but I’m not so sure. I haven’t seen the telltale signs of nbp (nano-bot-poo) tracers. Although I’ve been able to see quite well during the day, I do have some halo effects at night. I was told this was normal, and I shouldn’t be alarmed. I’m wondering if I should tell them about the wings I’ve started growing since the halo ‘effect’ started… I think I’ll just keep that to myself.
