Born and raised in Olympia, WA, I grew up surrounded by the ocean and mountains. I spent most of my time exploring outside, and became fascinated by science early on. I loved collecting bugs and plants (especially lichen!) and looking at them under my microscope. Yes, I did start my career as a nerd very early on.

I came to Lincoln in 2010 to attend UNL for their stellar education program. While a student there I was a teaching assistant for the Physics and Astronomy Department, resident assistant in University Housing, secretary of our campus’ chapter of the National Science Teacher Association (NSTA), and a proud (yet uncordinated) member of a broom ball team.

Student Teaching:
I completed my student teaching May of 2014 at Southeast High School under Cindy Karel in Applied Chemistry. While student teaching, I fell in love with LSE and was fortunate enough to be hired in the science department!

Education:
I graduated from the Univerisity of Nebraska-Lincoln in May of 2014 with my Bachelors of Science in Educaiton. I have a Natural Science Endorsement, which means I am certified to teach (in no particular order) biology, chemistry, physics, and earth sciences.
