8th Grade Health Expectations

Teacher: Mr. Ziola    Textbook: Teen Health Course 3             Class: Y Days Periods 1 & 4

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS:


1.) Be respectful. Raise your hand when you want to talk, do not talk while other students or the teacher is speaking, and use appropriate language. Follow the Irving School guidelines and instructions given by ANY STAFF MEMBER, including custodians and paras. Ask permission if you need to leave the room. Mr. Ziola must sign planner.

2.) Be safe. All students have the right to learn in an environment that is safe and comfortable. Any verbal or physical behavior that is intimidating, insulting, or harming others, or is based on gender, race, religion, ethnic background, physical or mental ability is NOT acceptable. Intervention Plans will be put in place for violations.

3.) Be responsible. If you are absent from class, make sure to get class notes and/or assignments for the days you missed. Complete and turn in your work on time.

4.) No cell phones/ipods/mp3 players, food/drink or other nuisance items. Keep all caps/hats and jackets in your lockers.

5.) Be prepared to learn. Make sure to bring all necessary materials to class ON TIME (Responsibility) so that you are ready to learn. This includes bringing a pen/pencil, notebook, folder, and assignments. Students who are tardy (coming to class after the bell has rung) should walk in quietly and give a tardy pass to the teacher, if necessary.

6) Active Participant in class.

*** IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO GET THE INFORMATION YOU MISSED FROM MR. ZIOLA IF ABSENT. CHECK DAY OF THE WEEK FOLDER FOR ANY MAKEUP WORK YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED. IF YOU KNOW THAT YOU WILL BE ABSENT CHECK WITH MR. ZIOLA TO GET WORK AHEAD OF TIME IF POSSIBLE****
