Heads Up!

We will continue talking about the letter D this week because last week was a short week. Your child may bring a show and share this Friday again that starts with the letter D! This week there is no library; we have music instead on Friday . Also, mark your calendar, our next parent meeting will be in the Holmes Media November 20th at 5:30 . We will learn how to log in to view your child’s online portfolio! After the meeting, is the Holmes Chili Cook Off . If you wish to attend, bring a crock pot of your favorite chili blend. We will all enjoy tasting each others chili in the lunchroom and the judges will vote on the winner. I can’t wait to see you all there ! Finally, home visit sign-up sheet for November is on our website . Check it out and respond with the date and time that works best for you. Have a happy week.  🙂

Reminders

Hi Families,

I hope you all were able to have a restful weekend.  It was great to see so many families show up at the zoo last Thursday evening.  I’ve been hearing stories about the zoo and the students were very excited to tell me what classmates they ran into.  If you were not able to make it I totally understand that it is impossible for every family to make all meetings.  We signed up for parent teacher conferences at the meeting so if you were not there please take a minute to sign-up.  The times available are on the home page under Parent Teacher Conference Sign-Up.  Just reply to the post with the time you would like and I will update it when I receive your message.  🙂  Happy Monday.

Reminders for this week and future events!!!

Today, Monday, September 15th: We have Library Day today!!!  Please make sure your child’s library book is in their library bag and their library bag inside their book bag.

Thursday, September 18th:  Parent Meet at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo at 5:00.  Zoo is open free for LPS families from 5-8.  Our meeting will start at 5 in front of the Zoo.

I will be sending home notes on upcoming events so please make sure to always check your child’s backpack daily.  🙂  Have a wonderful Monday!!!

Thursday, September 25th:  A police officer will be visiting our classroom to teach us about his/her job, their uniform and many types of safety (street safety, stranger safety, what do you do if you’re lost, gun safety, fire safety, etc.)

Wednesday, October 1st:  We will be taking a walking field trip to Fire Station #7 to have a tour.  Parents if you would like to join us we would love that.  If so, you will need to complete the volunteer application at http://www.lps.org/parents/ .  You will see a header labeled volunteering.  This needs to be completed as soon as possible because our administrator needs it at least a week in advance prior to joining us for a field trip. 🙂

Tuesday, October 7th and Thursday, October 9th:  Holmes Parent Teacher Conference night.  I will be setting up a sign-up sheet in the next week so sign-up for the time you want to meet for conferences. 🙂

First Day of School Welcome!!!

Hi all!!!

So excited it’s our first day of school today!  Just wanted to shout this out to all of you.  I am looking forward to beginning this journey with all my families and their little ones.  Thank you for sharing them with me.  We will do so much together this year learning from each other.  I know you all are new to this website so please look around and become familiar with it.  Please post a reply to this message so I know that you found our site okay.  🙂  Also, I will be sending home with you your child’s census sheet.  Please look over it to make sure all the information is correct, answer the box questions on the back, sign and date and then return tomorrow.  Enjoy your day!!!!
