All About Ms. Haze

Hi there! If you are visiting my site you are probably one of four people…a co-worker wanting to feel energized by the mysterious, mystical and wonderful imaginations of early learners, an administrator coming to visit the foundation and future of education (the early childhood years), a former student and/or family whom I’m missing greatly or a current student/family I have the pleasure of learning with this year (if you don’t meet any of these criteria thanks for stopping by anyways)!  My name is Ms. Haze and this is my classroom’s page devoted to the children, families, schools and community in which I serve.  It is my hope this website acts as a bridge connecting school life to home life and makes communication convenient, engaging and helpful so my students and families receive the best possible care and opportunity to witness life in our classroom.  The goal being growth, but most importantly I want everyone to experience the journey of learning with us.  I am so ready to start this school year and do some amazing things with my new class.  It’s going to be a fun ride!

A little about me:  I graduated in 2009 with my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  The following summer I finished my endorsement in Early Childhood Education. This past summer I started my masters in TESOL (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages).  This is my fourth year at Holmes Elementary as the early childhood family educator and I LOVE every minute of it.  I truly feel honored and blessed to get to be a part of each family I work with.  I love going on all my home visits and feel it is such a great opportunity to see my students in their natural environment and it makes the relationships I have with my families that much more personal.  The picture below is of my son Henry and I.  He is a very active 4 year old whose best friend is an English Bulldog named Mack.  We also have two birds (Butter and Louie) and a fish named Leo (from TMNT of course).  When I have time for hobbies I love painting, reading, dancing, running, recycling of all things and riding horses.  Teaching will forever be my purpose, but my other dream would be to have an equine therapy business to lift all children’s spirits especially those with disabilities and/or teach in another country!
