Wake up Shake

Ingredients

3/4 cups milk

1/2 cups strawberry yogurt

1 ripe banana

1/4 cup chilled orange juice

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth.

Makes 2 servings

Apple Muffins

Ingredients

1 cup flour

1/4 cup sugar

1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

“dash” of salt

1 egg

1 apple

1/4 cup milk

3 tbs. butter (melted)

2 tbs. packed brown sugar

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

Preheat oven to 375. Coat or spray muffin tin. Peel, core, and chop apple. Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. In another bowl mix together eggs, milk, butter, and apples. combine both bowls together in one. In another bowl combine the brown sugar and cinnamon for your topping. Fill muffin tin 2/3 of the way full. Bake for 20-25 minutes. When done remove pan from oven ASAP. Sprinkle over muffins with topping.

Bread sticks

Ingredients

1/4 stick of butter

1 1/2 cups flour

2 tsp. sugar

2 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. salt

Directions

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Melt the butter in the microwave for 20 seconds. Set the butter aside. In a medium bowl stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough with you hands 10 times (add more flower to surface and your hands to reduce stickiness). Roll out dough with a rolling pin about 8×8. Cut dough into fours. Cut each section into six pieces ( 4 inches long, 3/4 inches wide). Dip each strip into the melted butter. Place strips on cookie sheet flat or twisted. Put strips close together but not touching. bake 8-10 minutes. Serve plain or with pizza sauce.

“It wasn’t difficult. It was just the matter of remembrance of scenes.”

Would you rather be in any other class besides drama?

“At times because sometimes I get stressed out about everything.”

Was drama a class of choice?

“No. Actually drama was my last choice.”

“Yes I do. I love watching the creativity come out of my students.”

What is your least favorite thing about teaching drama class?

“My least favorite thing would have to be our lack of time.”

Were auditions stressful for you?

“No. The most difficult part about auditions was deciding on a final cast. The students are talented and very enthusiastic, making it difficult in a good way.”

Did you try and help to make the scenes easier for the students?

“Yes. We practiced lines one at a time, and we also did activities with memorization.”

Power Salsa

Ingredients

1 can of black beans (rinsed)
1 mango (peeled, pitted, and chopped fine)

1/3 green bell pepper ( stemmed, seeded, and chopped fine)

1/3 red bell pepper ( stemmed, seeded, and chopped fine)

1/3 yellow bell pepper (stemmed, seeded, and chopped fine)

1 cup cucumber (chopped)

1 cup of jicama (diced)

1 cup of roma tomato (diced)

1/4 of a red onion

2 tbs. fresh cilantro (minced)

1/2 jalapeno chille (stemmed, seeded, and minced)

1/2  tsp. cumin

1/4 cup pinapple juice

2 tbs.fresh lime juice

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and add sugar, salt, and pepper to taste. mix together.

 

Homemade Hot Sauce

Ingredients

1 Can Tomato Sauce

1 1/2 tsp. of Garlic Salt

1 1/2 tsp. of Onion Powder

2 tsp. Ground Pepper Flakes

Ground Pepper to Taste

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix together well so one ingredient does not out taste the others. If tomato taste is still to strong then add more garlic salt and onion powder until tomato taste is gone.

Serve with chips or any Mexican dish.

Cinnamon Toast – The Right Way

Ingredients

4 slices of bread

1/4 cup softened margarine

1/4 cup sugar

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Smush softened margarine with a fork. Dump in sugar, cinnamon, vanilla. Stir to completely combine.

spread on slices of bread, completely covering the surface all the way to the edges.

Place toast on a cookie sheet. Place cookie sheet into the oven and bake for 8 minutes. Turn on the broiler and broil until golden brown and bubbling. Watch it so it wont burn!

Remove from oven and cunt slices into halves diagonally.

Sarah’s Applesauce

Ingredients

4 apples- peeled, cored, and chopped

3/4 cup water

1/4 cup white sugar

1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Directions

In a saucepan, combine apples, water, sugar, and cinnamon. Cover,  and cook over medium heat for 15-20 minutes, or until apples are soft. Allow to cool, then mash with a fork or potato masher.

Orange Frosty

Ingredients

1/3 cup sugar

1/2 cup milk

1 tsp. vanilla

1 6oz. can frozen orange juice

1 tray ice cubes’

1/3 cup powdered milk and 1 1/2 cups water OR 2 cans evaporated milk

Directions

Mix together in a blender the sugar, 1/2 cup milk, vanilla and frozen orange juice. Blend on medium until well-mixed. Continue blending and add ice cubes 2 at a time. Then add the powdered milk or canned milk. Makes 4 servings.

Italian BBQ Marinade

Ingredients

1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

1/2 cup Italian dressing

1/2 cup BBQ sauce

1 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp black pepper

Directions

Whisk together marinade ingredients in a gallon Ziploc bag.

Place meet in bag, seal and shake well until all meat is cover

with marinade. Marinate pork, chicken or beef overnight in

the refrigerator, turning at least once so one side of meat is

not only in marinade. Remove meat from marinade and grill.

Brush left over marinade on meat while grilling for deeper

flavor.

*This is enough for 2 pounds of meat*
