race down the hall

a natural sensation rushes through

my body as i step into the doors

of dawes middle school

a place where i met so many amazing people

a place where opportunities await

around every corner

familiar faces flas familiar

smiles and great me from a distance

dawes middle school is a place where

i built relationships,

my education

my future

as the day grow smaller and smaller

this school is almost ready to set me free

like a bird, strong and brave

i will always remember this school
