How to set up a search feed.

How to set up a search feed.

I’ve been preaching the value of static search feeds delivered via RSS for a few years now. I suggest you set up a few by default:

– Your place of work

– Your name (in quotation marks)

– Your surname+state (or city)

– Your school district

– Your hometown+state

– The names of any close friends or relatives you want to track

– Any curriculum areas you teach yearly

– Any hobbies or other topics of interest

– Any pedagogical issues you are interested in

– Etc.

The tutorial linked here from Poynter Online is focused on Journalists, but the same holds true for teachers.

People often ask me “How do you know that?”

Well…  THIS is how I know stuff. RSS rules!
