Hello! Welcome to Irving Middle School! I am beginning my 6th year as the Deaf and Hard of Hearing resource teacher here at Irving. I teach Reading Skills and Interventions & Strategies. I love my job and all the wonderful students, interpreters, teachers and administrators I work with every day.
I grew up in a small town in east-central Illinois. I have one brother and two nieces and I love spending time with them. I earned my Associates of the Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Parkland College in Champaign, IL in 2000 and my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (K-6) from UNL in 2003. In 2009, I earned my Deaf Education endorsement (PreK-12), also from UNL.
In my time outside of school, I love to do anything crafty, sing and play piano, read, be outdoors and spend time with friends and family. I was married in February to my husband, Sam, and we also enjoy communicating with his family halfway around the world in Kenya!
I look forward to working with students and parents this school year!
