Reading Investigations – 5/10/2016

O (Opener): Ms. A introduced the Body Biography Project.

ML (Mini-Lesson): Students collaborated by writing down characteristics for characters mentioned in You Don’t Know Me. Afterwords, Ms. A assigned students into groups of 2 or 3 and groups picked their character.

C (Core Lesson): Students began working on their Body Biography Project. This project is due Friday, 5/13.

Reading Ideas – 5/9/2016

O (Opener): Ms. A reviewed the STAR Exam expectations.

C (Core Lesson): Students completed the STAR Exam. Students who completed the STAR Exam before class ended continued working on their final project or participated in SSPR.

Reading Ideas – 5/5/2016

O (Opener): Ms. A discussed and handed out the final project, along with the rubric.

C (Core Lesson): Students began working on the questioning stance section of the final project. This project is due Friday, 5/12.

ML (Mini-Lesson): Students completed the pre-test vocabulary seen in You Don’t Know Me.

C (Core Lesson): Ms. A read aloud the Epilogue, while students followed along. Afterwords, students answered questions in their Unit Four Comprehension Packet and reflected on the book.
