Great Epectations Team meeting 3-3-14

Agenda:

1. Increasing Hope, Engagement, and Well-being in your grade level and in our school.  YOUR IDEAS:  see attached listing of responses

 

2.  Positive recognition:  Can we increase our recognizing of what students are doing well?  Here are some ideas to use:

“Take a Second” cards

Bee Stamps

Beep Beep!  Notes

Tickets for weekly drawing

 

3.  Monday, March 16 grade level meetings with students?

Review:  positive recognitions for students

Teams let Dr. B. know if you have something specific for your grade to cover on March 16th .  Following are the times to meet in the cafeteria:

9:15 grade 4

9:30 grade Kdg.

9:45 grade 2

10:00 grade 5

10:15 grade 1

10:30 grade 3

 

4. Results from Woods Grant Reporting Requirement Survey (Winter 2013-14)

See list of results in attachment.  How can we use these results to support and grow our management skills?  GET members reviewed these and made the following comments:

We need to practice (and re-teach and re-practice) what it looks like to go to the buddy room.

Teacher processing with students is more important than the think sheet.

Items 11-13 about asking provoking questions—What questions do we ask and WHY?  What does it look like to hold students accountable?

17:  We need to do more role playing and practicing of coping skills to use in the classroom.

24:  We need to remember to act when we see it, not wait until we feel it.

19-21 Collaborative planning is so vital to success

27:  We all need to reinforce goal behavior—the three life goals at least.

28:  We need to teach replacement skills (to get change, not just compliance).
