Modeling/discussing BIST strategies in team

What’s the child’s behavior tell us s/he can’t handle?

What is the missing skill?

I can make the right choices even when I am upset or angry.

I can be okay even when others are not.

(“What can you tell yourself/your body?”)

I can follow directions even when I don’t want to or it is hard.

(“What do you say when an adult asks you to do something?)

(“When an adult asks you to do something, how long does it take until you do it?)

How are you teaching replacement skills?  Triage, pre-teaching with questions, reviewing goals at teachable moments

Daring Greatly book club Wed, Nov. 13 at 4:30 at Lazlo’s (south).

  • Food for thought: On the form to provide a list of strengths since kids are carrying it down to the office.
  • Teams: Please look at your google doc shared forms at your grade level BIST moves every Wednesday at your team meeting.
  • Expressive Arts Team:  if a student from your class is sent to Buddy Room, you are the one to contact parents that day, and inform classroom teacher of parent contact.

Bathroom monitoring: We may need to go back to adult bathroom checking form. Speak with your team to see what would be best upstairs, main floor, and east wing.

Sidewalk chalk:

Monitor that words are used/spelled correctly.

NO writing on the building.
