Announcements for Parents:
The PTSO will be providing dinner for the teachers and staff during Parent – Teacher conferences on March 1st and 3rd. We are asking for parent donations for the meals. For Monday, we will be serving sandwiches and salads so we are asking for deli meats, buns, cheese, cold salads, chips, and desserts. For Wednesday, we will go with a taco/nacho theme and are asking for donations for nacho chips, cheese, shredded lettuce, tortilla’s, taco shells, salsa, and desserts. If you are able to donate any of these items or would like to donate cash instead, please contact Angie Miller at ajmmiller18@hotmail.com or at 402-560-5183. Donations will need to be at the school before 2:45 each day. Thank You!!
The 8th graders at Mickle will have the opportunity to participate in a Military Recognition Day on Friday, February 25th. The students will hear stories from different veterans and current active military personnel. The students will be participating in this activity all day. Mickle does have school on Monday. It is only the Elementary schools that do not have school.
Tuesday is a PLC day. We will dismiss at 1:38. There will be no homework club after school.
Conferences are Tuesday, March 1st and Thursday, March 3rd.

The NEW POGO cards are back at Mickle! You get a POGO card and coupon card with more discount for $20 instead of one AND the cards are good until June 2012. Supplies are limited! Profits from the sale of POGO cards go back to Mickle School to support activities, programs and classroom requests. Thank you!
Announcements for Students:
No homework club on Tuesday because of PLC.
Archery will be offered from 3:00 to 4:00 in the central gym on Wednesday and Friday this week. This is open to 6th, 7th and 8th grades.
All Mickle girls are invited to come sing “Princess & the Frog” songs with Mickle’s All-School Girls’ Choir! Rehearsals are Thursdays and Fridays at 7:15 am and 3:00pm in the Choir Room 142. We will have a snack and a drink for all!
Tuesday, Feb 22nd, will be a PLC day. Please make transportation arrangements for the early dismissal day at 1:38pm.
With the weather getting warmer it is important that all students dress for success. It is not okay to wear clothing to school that might be better suited for a weekend. Refer to page 2 in the student planner for student dress expectation. Remember to dress for learning success, not a fashion show.
Mickle Scientists, Mr. Westphalen is available to assist you with your science fair project after school every Thursday during “Science Learning Lab” in room 102. Mr. Westphalen can even provide you with the materials you need to complete your project. Give your registration form to your science teacher and attend the science learning lab this Thursday after school. If you have questions please ask your science teacher, they are here to help you. Thank you.
Have you ordered your yearbook yet? $20, before school in room 125 on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
The Mickle All-School Spelling Bee will be held immediately after school today in the Auditorium. If you forgot to tell your English teacher or sign up in advance, you may still participate. Come on down and join us! Prizes will include gift certificates and plaques for the winners, medals for the Finalists, and all participants will receive certificates and pizza coupons.
