    STUDENT NEWS:

    • Congratulations to Desiree Coleman for knowing that binary
    is the word that describes the number system with a base of
    two? Come to the office during lunch or after school to play
    PLINKO and collect your prize. Today’s trivia: Lightening is
    a spectacular discharge of what type of electricity? Come to
    the office to fill out the form with your name and answer.
    The winner will be announced tomorrow.

    • Do you crave an after school treat? Lions Inc. will be selling popcorn and water
    after school on Wednesday. Popcorn for 25 cents/bag and water for 50 cents/
    bottle! Please bring cash!

    • Speaking of cash… How can you turn trash into cash? Save UPC symbols from
    Best Choice Brand products. Lion’s Inc will trade them for cash that will be used
    for student celebrations.

    • 8th graders:  Plan to attend the 9th grade informational meetings of your
    choice.     This is a great opportunity to learn more about each high school!

    Jan. 13    Northeast
    Jan. 18    Lincoln High
    Jan. 19    East
    Jan. 20    Southwest
    Jan. 24    Southeast

    Each meeting will start at 7:00 pm and will take place at the high school.
    Also remember that your high school choice form is due in the counseling center
    by Jan. 31st.  If you plan to attend a high school other than your neighborhood
    school – you must complete this form by the end of the month.   If you have
    questions about this process, please see Ms. Ball or Ms. Townsend in the
    Counseling Center!

    • 8th boys’ basketball will practice today after school from 3:00-4:30p.m.

    • 8th graders: If you have another messy day like you did yesterday, there will be
    no snacks tomorrow.
