Will your mobile device work with Zimbra? Without testing each device, it is hard to give a definitive yes or no on everything, but the following should give you an idea of what you will be able to do with yours.

Any device will likely be able to connect to get your mail. The tricky bits concern syncing your calendar and/or contacts.

    iOS (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad)

iOS version 3 or higher is required, but version 4 or higher is preferred. You can find out what version you are running by going to “Settings” > “General” > “About”. Check the link for setup video.

WebOS (HP Palm Pré, HP Palm Pixi)

These devices work well with Zimbra. Mail, Calendar and Contacts will sync. Check the link for setup video.

    Android

Things get a little hairy with Android. It all depends on what model and operating system you are running. Because the handset makers and the carriers are so free to customize Android, we can not give a definite Yes or No. In general we have found that handsets made by LG, HTC and Motorola tend to work. In addition to this, you can feel pretty confident of success if your device is running Android 2.1 or higher. The only way to know for sure is to try it out. We will be starting a compatibility matrix to let folks know what has worked if you are looking for a new phone. Check the link for setup video.

    Windows Mobile

If you are running version 6 of Windows Mobile, you should be okay. As with Android, handset makers and carriers have some freedom to customize phones before they are sold and we can’t guarantee that every handset will work.

    Windows Phone 7

We’ve been told that Windows Phone 7 works great. Check the link for details.

    BlackBerry

BlackBerry devices do not support ActiveSync which is what Zimbra uses to do mobile synching. In order to support BlackBerry we would need to purchase and maintain a BlackBerry Enterprise Server which we do not plan to do considering that nearly every other device prefers ActiveSync. With the settings provided here your cell phone provider may be able to configure your BlackBerry to get your LPS mail.
