    Week of  November 1-5

I hope all of you had a wonderful fall break!  I gathered some great materials from the Alamo in San Antonia, Texas for an upcoming unit.

First Quarter grades will be given to students this Friday.  Since our grades do not start over until second semester, it is always best to still try and complete any missing work.  Learning Lab on Wednesday is a really good time to get started on completing unfinished work.   I am very willing to help students gather what they need  to get work completed.

This week we will be designing Slave Memorials. This was a new venture for us last year and I am anxious to see how students respond to it this year.

We will also be taking some of the Iowa Basic Skills test, as well as starting our unit on the American Revolution.  We will have a fun activity where one student will serve as King and delegate  the “taxes ” for the rest of us.
