    School principals, Site contacts:

Thanks so much for all your follow-up feedback and comments about the essentials we are adding to our school websites.  Our goal is to help you build a website that best meets the needs of your school and your community, but that is also easy to maintain.

We also want to make certain we provide all the technical support you need.

Today we are sending you a link to a demonstration website – to give you a sense of direction for your site.  The “Walkthrough” tab offers information and videos to provide assistance in making the requested alterations.

You are then free to make the changes on your own.  Or, if you would like one-on-one help, complete this form and Brian Fitzgerald will be available to help you follow through.  Cynthia Wehland Falk will provide opportunities at upcoming principal councils for principal photographs.

We checked with Bess Scott and John Neal, who reminded us that – as always ! – the  responsibility for a school website ultimately falls with the principal.  However, that often means finding the best person to do the work in your particular building:  perhaps an interested teacher, office secretary or staff member.

Again, we are asking that the following changes take place by the beginning of second semester:

    • A photograph of the principal
    • A message from the principal
    • A brief paragraph about your school
    • Start and end times for school day
    • Basic contact information: phone number, address
    • A “contact us” form so web users can send questions and comments to your school.  (See contact form on the left side of the district website for an example, however, the school web contact form will automatically go to the school principal…we will build this for you)

Please let us know how we can help further…
