On September 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Lincoln Police Department, Walgreens and the School Community Intervention Program (SCIP) of Lincoln Medical Education Partnership are partnering in the first ever nationwide prescription drug take-back, operating collection sites in Lincoln where the public can turn in their unused, unneeded, expired prescription medications.

Unused or expired prescription medications are a public safety issue, leading to accidental poisoning, overdose, and abuse.  This service is free and anonymous.  Tablets, capsules, and all other solid dosage forms will be collected.  Intravenous solutions, injectibles, and syringes will not be accepted.

Lincoln Collection Sites will be at the following Walgreens locations:

    –        13th & O Streets

    –        5701 Village Drive (40th & Old Cheney)

    –        1404 Superior

    –        8300 Northern Lights (84th & Holdrege)
