    It’s Twin Day Tuesday during spirit week here at Pound.  Stop by the table at lunch or in the media center to enter the Twin Trivia Contest.  Take a guess at the number of twins and triplets we have here at Pound for your chance to win a Twin Bing Candy Bar.

    Come on Pound! Say it loud!  HIGH-SCHOOL-SPIRIT-DAY!  This is a reminder that tomorrow is High School Spirit day here at Pound.  Dress to support your favorite high school.               StuCo

    StuCo & Cool Crew members: If you came to the media center yesterday and took cards to be signed, please get your 20 plus signatures and return the cards to the media center TODAY!!! (Remember, shhh…this needs to be on the QT!) –Mrs. Reinwald

    A great big Huge “Thank You!!” goes out to all the Pound Pals, Faculty and Staff who help make the 5th grade Visitation Days last Thursday and Monday so successful for our future 6th graders!  You really went out of your way and it showed!  Pound looked great and the 5th grades really loved the tour and the LUNCH!  Looks like we will have another super group of new 6th graders next year.  THANKS again for everybody’s help!!!!

    Pound’s own Kylee Yakel, 7th grade, has received the honor of being one of only 8 students who won a scholarship for a class at UNL to be taken prior to graduation from high school!  This is a result of her participation in the Duke Talent Search Program.  Yea, Kylee!

    “Strange Facts of Science” is the topic of the newest Pound View magazine.  Test your knowledge in “The Impossible Quiz of Science Facts.”  Read a copy in the Media Center.

    Daily Math/Logic Problem: What is the exact opposite of the words Not Out?  Answer: Out.  Many people will say In. Not Out and In mean the same thing.

    7TH GRADE

    To all 7th grade 1st Quarter Art students – come pick up your linoleum prints in room 131 (art room).  They were just returned from being on display at the LPS District office.                                                                                  Mr. Carey

    7TH & 8TH GRADES

    Engineering Exploration Week is a one-week day camp of workshops for students entering grades 8-9.  The camp is held at Peter Kiewit Institute in Omaha from July 12 – 16.  Registration deadline is June 21st and cost is $175.  Register on-line at http://www.jrhigheew.unl.edu or contact them for more information.

    8TH GRADE

    Announcing Southeast Step Chain Tryouts!  Tryouts will be tomorrow (Wednesday) through Friday, May 14th, from 3:15 – 4:15 each day at LSE in the south gym or room C119.  See posters in the halls for more information.

    Are you attending Lincoln Southeast High School next year?  If you are, you can apply for the 2010-2011 Student Council!  Applications are available in the main office at Pound.  You will need 2 recommendations so get your application as soon as you can.   Completed applications must be returned to LSE by Tuesday, May 11th, and late applications will NOT be accepted.
