    Browsers such as Firefox and Internet Explorer use a cache to speed up the display of web pages by re-using elements that it has already downloaded. Sometimes this can cause a browser to continue to display old material long after the page has been updated. Here are some steps for different browsers to “clear the cache”.

    Clearing Cache on Firefox – All Versions  (Mac and Win)

    1. Hold down ctrl (win) or option (mac).
    2. While holding the key down, click the refresh icon (usually looks like an arrow making a circle) in your browser toolbar. Here are some examples of how it may look:
      1. Release ctrl or option.

      1. From the Tools select Internet Options on the menu bar.
      2. Choose the General tab.
      3. Under Browsing history, click Delete….
      4. Next to “Temporary Internet Files”, click Delete files….
      5. Click Close.
      6. Click OK.

      1. In Internet Explorer, select Tools, then Internet Options on the menu bar.
      2. Click the General tab.
      3. Click Delete Files.
      4. Select the checkbox labeled Delete all offline content.
      5. Click OK on the Delete Files dialog box.
      6. Click OK.

      Clearing Cache on Safari 3

      1. In the Safari menu, go to Edit and select Empty Cache...
      2. Click the Empty button.

      Opera 9

      1. In the Tools menu, click Delete private data .
      2. Click Details.
      3. Check the boxes beside “Delete all cookies” and “Delete entire cache.”
      4. Click Delete.
      5. Quit and restart the browser for the changes to take effect.
