The Lux Passport Exploratory Curriculum for 7th grade is designed to create interest in the French language, show the students authentic francophone cultures, including art, music and food and ultimately take the students on a virtual tour of the francophone world. Did you know that French is the third most commonly spoken language in the United States? There are more than 1 million Americans who speak French at home and French is also the official language of more than 25 countries in the world! It is also one of the only two languages spoken on every continent in the world! This 9-week World Language course will introduce students to 5 exciting francophone places in the world. Using a passport and getting stamps along the way, they will experience a virtual trip around the world!
