November 9, 2015

Irving’s annual Tom Rutz Memorial Food Drive begins this week November 9-13. Our goal is to collect food items for the Food Bank of Lincoln. Bring your items to your 1st period class. There will be a competition between grades 6, 7, 8. Suggested food items are cans of fruit and vegetables, canned soup, instant potatoes, boxes of mac and cheese, cereal, grape jelly, peanut butter, and 100% fruit juices. Each food item earns you 5 minutes of community service. So please record this on your timecard and have your 1st period teacher sign this for you.

This is Spirit Week.

Volunteer shifts

WOW! We have over 200 shifts that are covered by Irving students, staff and parents.  Representing over 550 hours.  Thanks for taking the time to sign up!  Every hour helps work towards our school goal of 3000 hours!  Attendance is being taken at all volunteer sites, if you do not have your yellow time card with you, do not worry.  We will be giving credit using the sign in sheets at all volunteer locations on our master volunteer spreadsheet.  Volunteer hours are not being calculated from the Sign Up Genius site, you must be present at the volunteer site to receive credit for volunteer hours.

New shifts have been added for two animal related causes.  Animal Ambassadors needs help passing out food at their Pet food bank location, and helping to prepare their mailing.  Check out the Sign Up Genius Site for more information.

Donation letters will be mailed out next week, and sent to email addresses Thursday.  It is never too late to turn in addresses.

Be sure to check the ICOR bulletin board in the hall outside the office for all the latest news and updates.

Join us for our Monthly IPTSO meeting this Wednesday at noon in the media center.
